Dan Nagy, PE, has joined Wilson & Company in the San Bernardino office as a Senior Project Manager.
“Dan’s addition to the Wilson & Company Rail Division gives us a broader knowledge of current railroad construction and maintenance practices,” said Larry Long, Vice President. “Real life experience is invaluable in the railroad industry and coupled with his engineering background, will benefit our design processes and add value to the services we provide to our clients.”
Dan brings six years of Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) capacity improvement experience, and 16 years of civil engineering design, product detailing, and project management. He has been extensively involved in track construction projects for UPRR, and has safely managed these projects in complex, fast-paced environments while handling multiple facets of operational responsibilities. Dan has focused on achieving the safest, most efficient and economical operation consistent with safety, quality, on time performance, and customer service.
He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State University, and is a licensed professional engineer in California and Texas. He is also a Certified Remote Pilot.
He is a member of the American Railroad Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA).
In his spare time, he enjoys playing the saxophone and would like to get back into a band. Dan takes pride in putting time and effort into his hobbies, and built his off-roading rigs suspension from scratch for a summer trip this year to the famous Rubicon Trail in California. He has also designed and built four custom homes with his family, including a 1,500 sq.ft. shop with an apartment for his brother, who also enjoys working on toys and cars before trips. Last, but not least, Dan enjoys vacationing with his family, which means fishing, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, four wheeling, and lounging by the pool during down time.
