Wilson & Company engineers designed improvements for three-quarters of a mile, from Quivira Road to Pflumm Road. This area of Johnson County has undergone significant growth over the past decade and improvements to 119th Street were required to meet current and future growth needs.

Two key elements of this project were construction phasing, to provide access to local residents during construction, and utility relocations.

This two-lane road was widened to four-lanes with medians and left turn lanes at major intersections and at entrances into residential subdivisions.
