175th Street Improvements, Clare Road to US-169
Johnson County, Kansas
Critical Link

Johnson County's Public Works Department sought improvements for a 2.82 mile segment of 175th Street form Clare Road to US 169 to provide system continuity as a vital part of providing a cross link for future traffic between US 169 and the industrial airport.

Wilson & Company engineers studied four alignments from which the recommended alternate was determined. Though a series of public information meetings, relevant and vital information about the proposed alternates was collected from adjacent landowners. These public meetings were conducted through a joint effort of Johnson County Public Works and Wilson & Company.

Wilson & Company then designed improvements based on the approved alternate consisting of two 12-foot lanes with a 10-foot shoulder on each side. The project was completed to Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) design standards using KDOT's format.
