Wilson & Company designed improvements to residential
streets in northern Overland Park, including Beverly, Dearborn,
Craig, and Riley. The improvements were designed to replace open
ditches, deteriorating pavement, and narrow drives.
Wilson & Company engineers interviewed many homeowners on the
affected streets to better address drainage and access issues. Construction
phasing was carefully planned to ensure access to local residents
during construction.
All of the improvements fit within the existing street rights-of-way.
Measures such as integral sidewalk and a retaining wall were used
to save existing trees. We partnered with the city to include city-designed
street lighting on the project.
Major work items included:
- Full-depth asphalt replacement
- Curbs and gutters
- Curb and area inlets
- Storm sewers
- Sidewalks
- Retaining wall
- Residential driveways
- Cul-de-sac design
- Roadway design
