David P. Acosta (LSIT) SURVEY TECHNICIAN

David became part of the Albuquerque Survey Dept in summer 2001 as a Rodman.  As a student at New Mexico State University he worked summer and winter breaks until graduation in 2007. After earning his Bachelors Degree in Surveying Engineering from NMSU, he was recruited by Wilson & Company as a full time employee.

Throughout his career as a survey technician, he has earned his LSIT certification and is currently working on becoming a Professional Surveyor in the state of New Mexico.

Outside the office, David spends time with his wife Adrienne and three kids (Andrew 6, Diego 2 and Bella 6 months.)  He enjoys photography, making music and traveling with his family as much as possible.

Careers

Paseo del Norte Extension

Albuquerque, New Mexico

The City of Albuquerque worked diligently to secure the right-of-way for the Paseo del Norte Corridor during the formation of the Petroglyph National Monument. Completed within 19 months, the 2.7-mile project implemented a much needed transportation corridor while enhancing the natural surroundings and minimizing the roadway footprint. For example, the remaining volcanic basalt rock from ancient volcanoes along the western edge of the city made the design complex, but also allowed for creative additions such as using a short concrete masonry unit retaining wall that mimics the black basalt rock in color and texture. Wilson & Company provided full design services, including: roadway, sanitary sewer, retaining walls and structures (both a pedestrian overpass and a wildlife/pedestrian underpass); and hydrology and drainage design. We also supported the project through a public involvement program and extensive coordination with agencies, artists, and landscape architects; utility coordination; right-of-way acquisition services; and construction management.
