Wilson & Company completed the design for the final improvements at the municipal water treatment plant that were originally identified in a 1984 Facilities Plan.

In 1990 the Governing Body of Colwich, Kansas, began a journey that would have many twists and turns. The community of 1250 did not have a municipal water supply system and received their drinking water from a shallow aquifer identified as highly susceptible to contamination from agricultural activity.

The water mains within the heart of downtown Pittsburg were over 100 years old. Many water main breaks due to exterior corrosion had occurred in recent years.

The City of Salina was faced with more stringent discharge limits on a renewed NPDES permit. Wilson & Company completed a facility plan evaluating alternatives for ammonia removal, as well as evaluating the condition and capacity of each process throughout the existing treatment plant.

Wilson & Company has completed four major projects at this 150 mgd water treatment facility. The Solids Handling Facility currently under construction and is progressing toward a successful construction completion in March 2002.

Wilson & Company designed an attractive and cost effective facility to pump 80 million gallons of water north per day to a treatment plant. It is a "lifeline" and had to be failsafe. It is also Scottsdale - aesthetically it had to fit.
