Luis Garcia, PE, has joined Wilson & Company’s San Bernardino office, bringing with him five years of structural design experience. This includes designing reinforced concrete utility structures (vaults, culverts, manholes), prestressed foundation piles, and minor steel products. He has prepared design analysis and calculations, engineering reports, studies, feasibility, cost/benefit analysis, research and investigations, and other technical documents.
“We are very excited to have Luis on board, ” said Larry Long, Vice President. “Luis will bring a new dimension to the services we provide our clients in the SoCal railroad market.”
In addition to Luis’s structural design experience, he has also provided services while in the field. His construction management experience includes engineering support during construction, design changes, request for information, change orders, field inspection, pre-construction meetings, monitoring work for contractors and subcontractors for conformance and compliance to construction plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
Luis has served as the Engineer-of-Record and signed, stamped, multiple shop drawings and engineering plans for various agencies. Some of these include Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Caltrans, Southern California Edison, and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).
“My favorite part about engineering is working together with a team of professionals to achieve a goal,” says Luis. “When a project is completed, whether a bridge, building, or road, it is very rewarding to know that my skills were instrumental in bringing it into being.”
Luis has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis from the California State Polytechnic University. He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of California and a CGP Qualified SWPPP Developer and Practitioner.
In his spare time, Luis enjoys spending time with family in Disneyland and traveling outside the country.
