EOG Resources, Inc. Transload Facility

This $50 million multi-purpose facility located in Stanley, ND, was the first unit train facility in the United States designed to load crude oil into a unit train where it is transported to points south for refining. Wilson & Company formed a multi-disciplined team for the development, design, and construction of this facility, which has the capability of loading two 100-car unit trains per 24-hour period.

The facility includes a loop track; five crude oil storage tanks; covered 14-spot loading platform including pumps, piping, valves, actuators, and air compressors; all track-related elements, including sub-ballast, ballast, ties, track, and mainline switches provided by BNSF Railway Company; pad mount transformers; lighting poles; electronic switchgears; secondary containment liners; sand conveyor equipment; metal building; and modular buildings.

Wilson & Company provided the design of all civil and grading services, project track design, crude oil storage tanks design, pumping facilities design, rail loading platform design, eight spot truck unloading platform design, facility electrical and operating controls design, emergency generator design, site mechanical and electrical services design, fire protection for tanks design, pumping facilities design, administrative and support buildings, construction management, and procurement services, and facility commissioning services

Wilson & Company recently provided engineering services and construction management services for additional unit train storage tracks at the facility.
