Wilson & Company’s Salt Lake City Office Expands Services and Expertise

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – June 8, 2020 – Wilson & Company, Inc. Engineers & Architects, a national engineering and architecture firm with multiple award-winning design-build transportation projects throughout Utah, has expanded the team to include senior technical bridge expertise and a team of stormwater, drainage, hydrology, hydraulics (H&H), and transportation professionals to offer a full range of multi-discipline services to clients and the local community.

“Since starting the office in 2007, the vision has been to build a full-service office that provides professional consulting to a wide variety of state, local, and private clients. Today we are several steps closer to fulfilling that vision,” said Senior Vice President and Transportation Division Manager Michael King, PE.

Since the Salt Lake City office opened in 2007, Wilson & Company has worked on nine design-build projects in Utah. In late 2018, Stormwater Designer Tyler Raby, CFM, joined the team to expand into stormwater and municipal services for Wilson & Company’s Utah clients. Tyler brings a strong background in H&H and infrastructure design to mitigate flooding potential. Tyler has grown and trained three more professionals for the team in the short time he has been with the firm.

Amy Bean, PE, joined the team after Tyler and uses her experience in the public sector with city inspectors to develop innovative solutions and cost-effective designs. She brings local clients drainage services while determining the best use of available funding. Tyler and Amy were then joined by Stormwater Designers Rob Thorley and Travis Whitfield to complete a full range of stormwater and H&H talent. Rob brings a passion for water with a new degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Utah. Recent Utah State University graduate, Travis Whitfield, studied environmental engineering and researched cyber infrastructure for intelligent water supply.

The expansion of services reached beyond stormwater into the realm of transportation expertise. Allison Dennett, PE, recently joined the Utah team as a Transportation Project Manager. She brings a vast knowledge of UDOT processes and procedures, and years of leadership experience in managing projects to meet the client’s goals and advertise smoothly.

Wilson & Company is excited to offer more than 16 years of structural bridge design, management, and supervision experience with Structures Manager Ram Mothe, PE, SE. Ram brings leadership and communication skills built through a background in structures design/construction, seismic design, and bridge inspection projects throughout California, Utah, and Texas. That experience included the alternative project delivery methods of design-build, construction manager/general contractor (CMGC), and design-bid-build. Ram will be leading our strong team of structural engineers and designers in delivering high-quality, innovative structural solutions.

“Success breeds success. We are so grateful to have these new additions to our Salt Lake office and to provide technical expertise not only in Salt Lake but also in our other design-build markets across the midwest,” said Associate Vice President and Alternative Delivery Program Manager Tom Melton, PE, DBIA.
