Dos Lagos Master Planned Development and Urgent Care Facility
Dos Lagos was a shared vision between the City of Anthony and a New Mexico state representative in 2018. Once a vision became a strategic development of the 112-acre Dos Lagos Golf Course. $4 million in local gross receipts revenue to purchase the golf course was identified by Wilson & Company grant research, and application assistance, planning, and design services were also provided. $1.55 million in funding from the State of New Mexico Capital Outlay for the planning and design of the project and $1.5 million in funding for the construction of an urgent care facility from the Economic Development Administration were secured with assistance from Wilson & Company’s grant writing team.
The Dos Lagos master-planned development is defining a new downtown. A multigenerational campus was identified that will offer diversified long-term employment opportunities and facilities to connect jobs with citizens along with vital tenants, including the urgent care facility, the State of New Mexico Administration Office of the Courts, and City Hall. These anchor tenants enable the City to secure and expend public funds for infrastructure. The remaining real estate will be rezoned and subdivided for commercial, retail, and housing. Upfront development costs are reduced, making Dos Lagos an attractive investment. Once constructed, the project will include a multi-generational center, commercial/municipal district, residential district, and recreational district.
