Caton Middle School
Wilson & Company helped lay the groundwork for this facility with careful planning and placement beginning over 12 years before the project started. Caton Middle School has been in service since the 1950s and was identified by the State of New Mexico as a facility that has exceeded its useful life and is thus scheduled for replacement. The vision for the new 47,000-sf school began in 2010 as part of forward-thinking during the elementary school replacement project.
Caton Middle School is constructed of durable materials within a functional layout. The design includes active and passive safety and security measures supporting an energy-efficient educational environment with a lifespan of more than 50 years. Natural light, energy-efficient building systems, and acoustically engineered spaces have all been incorporated to enhance the academic environment.
The project was completed within budget through cautious construction management and coordination with the project owner.
